Our Privacy Philosophy
OneShotCV was built with a simple principle: your resume is none of our business.
Unlike other resume builders that harvest your personal information, work history, and contact details to sell to recruiters or advertisers, we designed OneShotCV to be completely stateless. Everything happens in your browser.
What We DON'T Collect
- ❌ Your name, email, phone number, or any resume content
- ❌ Your work history or education
- ❌ Cookies for tracking or advertising
- ❌ Analytics that identify you personally
- ❌ Your IP address (we don't log it)
What Stays in Your Browser
- ✓ All resume data you enter
- ✓ Auto-saved progress (stored in your browser's localStorage)
- ✓ Your template preferences
This data never leaves your device. If you clear your browser data, it's gone — we have no backup because we never had a copy.
PDF Generation
PDF export happens entirely client-side using JavaScript. Your resume content is converted to PDF in your browser and downloaded directly to your device. No server ever processes your resume data.
Payments
If you choose to pay $3 for export, payment is processed by Stripe. We receive confirmation of payment but do not store your payment details. Stripe's privacy policy applies to payment processing.
Analytics
We use Vercel Analytics to count pageviews and basic events (like button clicks) to understand how people use OneShotCV. This helps us improve the product.
What Vercel Analytics collects:
- ✓ Pageviews (which pages you visit)
- ✓ Basic events (e.g., "Export button clicked")
- ✓ Aggregate performance metrics (page load speed)
What it does NOT collect:
- ❌ No personal identifiers
- ❌ No IP addresses stored
- ❌ No cross-site tracking
- ❌ No cookies
- ❌ No resume content or form data

Third-Party Services
- Stripe (payments) — processes payment if you choose to pay
- Vercel Analytics (usage metrics) — counts pageviews and events, no personal data
- CDN (content delivery) — serves static files, no personal data transmitted
Cookies
We don't use cookies for tracking. The only browser storage we use is localStorage to save your resume progress locally on your device.
Children's Privacy
OneShotCV is not directed at children under 13. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone, including children.
Data Retention
We retain nothing. There's nothing to retain. Your data exists only on your device in your browser's localStorage until you clear it.
Your Rights
Since we don't collect your data, there's nothing to request, correct, or delete from our end. You have full control over your data in your browser.
Changes to This Policy
If we ever change this policy, we'll update the date at the top. But honestly, our policy is "collect nothing" — that's not likely to change.
